VisakhaPatnam, February 23 Flash mail News Publications : Waltair Division of East Coast Railway has taken a significant step towards innovative non-fare revenue generation with the successful award of a commercial advertisement contract on TEN numbers of WAP-7 electric locomotives awarded to a Delhi based Catering and Hospitality Services contractor through e-auction process for a period of three years till 2028. With this initiative, the locomotives will be adorned with company-approved designs, making them more colourful, attractive, aesthetically appealing, and eye-catching to the public. Approximately 38.56 sqare meters of space per locomotive has been earmarked for commercial advertisement in accordance with approved drawings. The contract carries an annual licensing fee of more than ₹7 lakhs with a total contract value of more than ₹26 lakhs thereby contributing substantially to the Division’s non-fare revenue earnings. Appreciating the team Commercial, Divisional Railway Manager of Waltair Division Shri Lalit Bohra said that the initiative by Waltair Division is to utilize railway assets innovatively while maintaining operational excellence and safety standards. By transforming high-eye catching rolling stock assets into dynamic advertising platforms, the Division continues to strengthen its financial sustainability and align with Indian Railways’ broader vision of enhancing non-fare revenue streams, he added.

SIX CADETS OF BHARAT SCOUTS AND GUIDES, WALTAIR DISTRICT, CONFERRED WITH PRESTIGIOUS PRESIDENT’S AWARD

Six outstanding cadets from the Waltair District Wing of the Bharat Scouts and Guides of East Coast Railway have achieved the coveted President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger Award – the highest honour bestowed upon members of the organization. The award is conferred in the name of Her Excellency, the President of India, recognizing exceptional dedication, discipline, leadership, and service. The awards were presented and the cadets felicitated by the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Waltair Division, who is also the President of BSG Waltair District, on the occasion of World Thinking Day of the Scouts and Guides organization. The ceremony was held at Aranya – The Outdoor Activities and Camping Centre, Visakhapatnam, amidst a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere. The event also marked the Visible Reflection of World Thinking Day & Award Rally of Waltair District Association and was graced by the august presence of Smt. Jyotsna Bohra, President, ECORWWO; Shri K. Rama Rao, DCC & ADRM (Operations); Shri E. Santharam, ADRM (Infrastructure); Smt Gayatri Santharam, Vice President, ECORWWO; Shri Aruna Kumar Moharana, DC Scouts & Sr. DEN/Co-ordination/WAT and Other senior officers and dignitaries. The six prestigious Rashtrapati Awards comprised of Two Rashtrapati Rovers,Two Rashtrapati Guides and Two Rashtrapati Rangers. The President’s Awards were formally handed over to the awardees by the DRM/Waltair in the presence of other dignitaries and officers. Speaking on the occasion, the DRM congratulated the awardees and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Scouting team of Waltair District for imparting quality training, discipline, leadership values, and nurturing talent among the cadets, enabling them to achieve such a prestigious and noble honour. Following the award ceremony, a brief cultural programme was organized by the Scouts and Guides, adding colour and enthusiasm to the celebrations.
