
Visakhapatnam, February Flash Mail News Media Publications : Waltair Division of East Coast Railway, Divisional Railway Manager, Lalit Bohra, inspected the Diesel Loco Shed at Visakhapatnam today, 21.02.2026. During the visit, the DRM reviewed various ongoing activities, infrastructure upgrades, and technical modifications being undertaken at the shed to enhance operational efficiency and maintenance standards. He was accompanied by Shri M.K. Sahoo, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer (Diesel); Shri K. Rama Rao, ADRM (Operations); Shri Sanjeev Dixit, Deputy Chief Engineer/Construction; Shri B. Sairaj, Senior Divisional Engineer (South); Shri K. Jagadish, Senior Divisional Engineer; along with other senior officers of the Division. DRM particularly reviewed the progress of the project for maintenance of 300 locomotives by Siemens at the Diesel Loco Shed, Visakhapatnam. The project, being executed under the supervision of the Construction Wing of Waltair Division, aims to significantly strengthen locomotive maintenance capacity. Once completed, the enhanced maintenance facilities are expected to support improved availability of locomotives, thereby facilitating smoother freight operations and contributing to increased freight loading in the Division.

Visakhapatnam, February Flash Mail News Media Publications : Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Waltair, Shri Lalit Bohra today inaugurated the newly constructed railway officers’ accommodation at Vaisakha Railway Colony, Visakhapatnam, in the august presence of Smt. Jyotsna Bohra, President, ECoRWWO. The newly developed residential complex comprises four units of Type–V quarters with cellar facilities and one unit of Type–VI quarter. The project has been executed by the Civil Engineering Department of Waltair Division, with focus on enhancing residential infrastructure for railway officers. Speaking on the occasion, the DRM appreciated the efforts of the Civil Engineering team for timely completion of the project with quality standards. He stated that providing modern, well-equipped residential facilities is essential for ensuring the comfort and well-being of officers, which in turn contributes to improved efficiency and service delivery. The quarters are designed with improved amenities and facilities to meet contemporary residential requirements. ADRM Infra Shri E Santharam, ADRM Operations Shri K Rama Rao, Senior officers from various departments, staff members, and representatives of ECoRWWO were present during the inauguration ceremony.
