IIM Visakhapatnam Marks Valedictory of Its PG Certificate Program in General Management with Data Science & Analytics

Visakhapatnam,November 16:  The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) celebrated the valedictory ceremony of its 11-month Post Graduate Certificate Program in General Management with Data Science & Analytics, a unique program designed to integrate core management principles with advanced analytical and data-driven decision making skills. The cohort comprised 31 participants from diverse industries and professional backgrounds.Delivering the valedictory address, Prof. M: Chandrashekhar, Director, IIM Visakhapatnam, delivered an inspiring address,  urging participants to reflect on the three kinds of people we encounter in life: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who ask what happened. He encouraged the participants to strive to be in the first category leaders and pioneers who create meaningful impact. He further referenced Norman Augustine’s reflection from his celebrated book Augustine’s Laws, known for its sharp insights and timeless wisdom on management and human potential, that “a person’s biggest burden is his or her true potential urging participants to continue pushing their boundaries and applying their learnings to shape their professional growth.  The program is led by Program Directors Prof. Shiva shanker Singh Patel and Prof. Anupama Sharma. Bringing together 31 participants from varied professional backgrounds ranging from operations, finance, HR, and public administration to IT and analytics the program created a truly diverse learning ecosystem. Over the course of seven robust modules, participants engaged with a thoughtfully curated curriculum that balanced foundational management disciplines with cutting-edge technological competencies. The journey began with the essentials of General Management and Strategic Leadership, then moved into deeper analytical territories covering Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data frameworks, and advanced Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics.  This combination of managerial breadth and technical depth proved particularly powerful. Many participants expressed that the integrated learning experience has already begun reshaping their professional trajectories. Some reported receiving new project responsibilities and visibility within their organizations, others shared that the program has accelerated long-awaited promotions or opened pathways to roles at the intersection of management and data science. For several participants, the program has sparked the confidence and clarity needed to pursue meaningful career transitions in the near future.  The 11-month learning journey culminated in a Capstone Project, where participants showcased their ability problems. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the Best Capstone lity to apply data science techniques to real – world managerial project award.
